Spring Cleaning for Your HVAC Systems
Its May 1st and Spring is here; So you know what that means - Spring Cleaning.
We want to make sure that you know that your spring cleaning routine should include your HVAC systems.
Here's a checklist of things to do with your hvac systems to help keep your home in top shape
1. Check your air-conditioning and heating equipment before the beginning of a new season. If you notice any problems give a professional hvac company a call and have the problem fixed right away.
2. Have your a/c system cleaned. With a/c maintenance you're making sure that everything is clean and operating properly, saving you money on repairs over time. Not only that, but your a/c and its parts will last longer. The outside condenser unit of your A/C can get clogged up with dirt and debris. The coils need to be checked, at least annually, and carefully cleaned when necessary. If the condenser isn’t regularly maintained, your condenser unit will have to work much harder to bring the air in and cool it. The harder the equipment has to work, the more likely it is to break down sooner than it should.
3.Check and replace your furnace filters every month. Changing the air filter in your furnace regularly will prevent dust, dirt, mold spores, soot, bacteria, and allergens from building up in the air inside your home. Changing your furnace filter is a very simple way to keep your indoor air clean and avoid costly repairs to your heating system.
4. Inspect and, if necessary, caulk around your home's windows and doors annually. That will help keep out heat and humidity in the summer and cold drafts in the winter; this will also save money on your utility bills all year round.
